Disney 2008

We finally gave in and made the requisite family pilgrimage to Disney World. Of course it was all made much easier considering it was a gift from Sandy's Mom. What a gift! We had a great time. Gabby was treated like a Princess at the Bibbidi Boppidi Boutique and the boys were wild for Star Wars Days at Disney Studios.

Talk about needing a vaction from a vacation. It was nothing but go go go from breakfast through bedtime. Sandy and I were wiped out! But it was well worth it. I'm sure the kids will always remember what a trip it was. They had the times of their lives.

We had so much fun we are planning to go back again in April!

Easter 2008

This year as lent was winding down the kids were eager to resume the activities which they had given up. Nathan had his mp3 player charged up and ready to go and Riley was especially eager to dig into the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies Mom made for Easter day.

As usual the Easter bunny made a stop at the house and hid lots of eggs and left baskets for the kids. The kids were ready for the egg hunt at what seemed like the crack of dawn. Gabby was especially excited about the Hula Hoop that the bunny left for her. Check her out in this video. Oh, later on I timed Gabby for over ten minutes doing the Hula Hoop!

This year everyone gathered at our house and Chris prepared the meal. Laurie and Chris made the traditional Oliva cauplets to kick off dinner. Of course by the time we all had our fill of the cauplets nobody was ready for the rest of dinner, well, except Bill. Like always there was too much food and way too many leftovers.

The Legend of the Potato Bum Begins

You've all heard of Mr. Potato Head right? Well now there's a new potato in town; Mr. Potato Bum. It all started innocently enough with Dad getting dinner ready. You know when people say "doesn't that cloud look like a bunny" and you just can't see it? Well there's no mistaking it here, this potato looks like a bum!

Just imagine how you could dress this spud up. Nevermind the jokes! The possibilities are endless. And so, the legend of the bum potato begins........
